Director's Message

It is a matter of great pleasure for me to introduce NIT Delhi as an Institute of National importance, which is one of the 30 NITsí and was set up by Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India during the 11th Five Year Plan. It aims to provide Instructions and Research guidance in various disciplines of Engineering, Science and Technology, Management, Social Sciences and Humanities for advance learning and dissemination of knowledge. Though at present, NITD is running temporarily at IAMR Campus, Narela, but it has been allocated land for permanent campus on NH-1, Narela sub city, New Delhi where work is already has started to build the most advanced facilities with developed infrastructure and latest technologies that an Institute of this cadre should have.

It is only possible to develop NIT Delhi into a reputed Institute when we venture seriously and sincerely both at individual and collective levels which may prove a pride for all of us in time to come, and may become a centre of learning and research at the global level.

In the present era of globalization, the Institutions are under tremendous pressure to deliver quality education. Our mission is to produce human resource with creative and innovative ideas, competitiveness with high intellect and professional ethnic values and to impart holistic education along with inculcating high moral values in the students.

The institute has already built a brand name for itself amongst the ten newly established NITs. The institute has already advertised for attracting the best talents from all over the world for its faculty, and, is hoping it will be the very important step towards achieving its vision faster and better. From the academic session beginning in July 2014, the institute is to start its post graduate programme (M.Tech) in Computer Science and Engineering (Analytics), and I hope it will help in serving the cause of higher education.
